Restructuring between innovative design and rediscovered space

In an urban environment where history meets contemporary design, a new renovation project stands out for its bold and refined reinterpretation of living space. Located in a prestigious neighborhood overlooking the castle, this completely renovated apartment represents a perfect fusion of functionality and aesthetics.

A black textured cube as the fulcrum of design

At the entrance of the apartment, guests are greeted by a surprising and distinctive element: a black textured cube enclosing the guest bathroom. This element not only serves as a visual focal point but also plays the crucial role of ideally dividing the living spaces. Thanks to this solution designed by the KK Architecture studio, three well-defined zones have been created: a living area, a dining area, and a kitchen area. The resulting effect is a space that, while remaining open and fluid, enjoys maximum exposure to natural light and a continuous view of the castle, emphasized in every corner of the living area.

Functional Recovery of Spaces

Another innovative aspect of this project was the recovery of square meters initially lost in the hallway. Originally not used in a functional way, these spaces were transformed by adding a guest bathroom and a laundry room with a coat rack. This transformation not only optimized the use of space but also significantly improved the daily functionality of the house, a design solution that can be found in different interior design projects.

Brightness and viewpoints

The creation of the cube at the entrance has allowed to free the window of the former bathroom in favor of the living area, significantly increasing the natural light intake. Crossing the threshold of the house, one is greeted by a enveloping brightness that offers two intriguing viewpoints: one towards the living room and the other towards the kitchen, gradually revealing the spaces in a crescendo of visual discoveries. The layout of the spaces creates a perfect balance between separation and continuity, making the living area a welcoming and versatile place.

Flexibility for the future

Thinking ahead to the future, the designer addressed the issue of a bedroom for a young couple without children, but with the desire to keep this possibility open. The solution was to create a study/relaxation area, designed as an extension of the kitchen and easily convertible into a separate bedroom through a simple plasterboard wall with a door. This flexibility allows for optimal use of the space in the present, while also ensuring the ability to adapt it to future needs without invasive interventions.

Elegance and functionality in the bedroom area

The bedroom area has been designed as a refuge of elegance and comfort. The main bedroom, equipped with a king-size bed, is connected to a walk-in closet that utilizes the entire access corridor, offering unexpectedly spacious storage space. The master bathroom, directly accessible from the bedroom, is furnished with a floor-level walk-in shower, a double sink area, and a separate and discreet toilet area. This configuration creates a true hotel suite, combining luxury and practicality. This renovation project has transformed an ordinary apartment into an oasis of light, comfort, and elegance. Every detail, from the choice of materials to the layout of the spaces, has been carefully curated to create an environment that is both welcoming and versatile.
