With so many residents viewing the wall, from their homes or from their backyard and terrace, creating a painted art mural was almost a must. The design features a futuristic rendition of a three-dimensional cloud-scape above New York City populated by winged creatures

The Mural at the Max is a 28,000 square foot mural for a new luxury building located on West 57th Street in New York City. The creation of this artwork stemmed from the need to give a beautiful view to approximately 100 apartment units that faced a blank wall
Several poems are concealed within the cybernetic clouds that overlook the skyscrapers and skyline below. Karlssonwilker worked with the Poetry Society of New York to identify local poets from various New York City neighborhoods. Ten poets were commissioned to write 25-40 word poems celebrating the New York neighborhood while paying particular attention to its history and architecture
Six public domain poems were also selected for inclusion in the mural. Each apartment with views of the mural will receive its own binoculars, and there will also be a permanent telescope installed in the courtyard to aid in this discovery
