New life to a historic residence in South Tyrol: the Lasserhaus Art Hotel

In Bressanone, a noble palace from the 15th century becomes the Lasserhaus Art Hotel thanks to the careful restoration and interior design project that has redesigned its spaces, furnishings, and functions in a balanced interplay of contrasts with artworks and memories

The Lasserhaus becomes a 4-star superior Art Hotel

Owned by the Faller family for over 40 years, the 15th-century building is being transformed by the Vudafieri-Saverino Partners studio with a project that strikes the right balance between respecting historical elements and meeting contemporary living needs. The house's renovation reimagines its use, turning the first two floors into a 4-star superior Art Hotel and the top two floors into a residence for the family. The hotel consists of three suites, six double rooms, and one single room, totaling 10 rooms immersed in a sophisticated atmosphere enriched by the Fuller art collection

A new artistic and hospitality point of interest in the city

In the new Lasserhaus Art Hotel, the original elements of the residence, completely protected by the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape, coexist with pieces of contemporary design reflecting the character of the episcopal city of Bressanone, capable of blending its medieval atmosphere with cutting-edge cultural proposals. Architects Claudio Saverino and Tiziano Vudafieri, excited about the challenge inherent in this project, apply their approach, always attentive to the genius loci, transforming the Lasserhaus into a new artistic and hospitality point of interest in the city

The hotel interiors among pieces of contemporary art

Enhanced by works and pieces of family art, the lobby and reception welcome guests on the ground floor to lead them to the first four rooms and a small sitting room with a library corner. Access is also given to the cellar with a tasting room where Peter Kogler, one of the pioneers of digital art, creates unusual spatial depths with psychedelic patterns. On the mezzanine of the internal staircase with a work by Alexander Wierer on the transience of the present, there is a SPA with a whirlpool and sauna. On the first floor, the other rooms and the breakfast room are located. Here, a high-impact chandelier and the artwork "Expect the best" by the visual artist Petra Polli are on display

Woods and mountain hues. Color palette and furnishings

The chosen palette, based on a careful study of color, is inspired by the hues of autumnal woods and mountains, ranging from the green of glossy laminate to the red-brown of brushed larch to the warm, dark burnt larch brown. All of this is complemented by velvets and brass inserts. Other artistic installations can be found in the rooms, such as "Wall Bars" by Ingrid Hora, which encourages new perspectives and free expression of ideas, and "Thoughts and Planets" by Ester Stocker with its ten sculptures that appear to float on the ceiling. The furnishings are mainly custom-designed by architects, while some pieces are salvaged and restored, such as the Tyrolean chairs
