NYC Garage redefines the way people think about parking structures: a dynamic structure, the new parking garage integrates the character of the campus, bringing together safety, efficiency and functionality

Dynamic Structure and Athletic Design

Themes of movement and bold ideas are expressed through the NYC Garage's footprint: an 840.000 square foot structure housing 1.994 employee and visitor parking spaces designed by SRG Partnership. Each bay is separated from the other, creating an undulating roof. The breaks are highlighted by bright orange metal panels that make the structure appear to leap forward, emphasizing the athletic movement

Inspired by Urban Grit

Part of the central section is cut out to allow daylight in and to create a covered outdoor courtyard for sports activities, community gatherings and special events on campus. The NYC Garage is cleverly inspired by the fast pace and 'urban grit' atmosphere of New York City. Each of the garage's six levels is branded with super graphics, logos and colors for New York's championship-winning sports teams: the New York Giants, Jets, Knicks, Nets, Yankees and Mets

Distinctive Urban Atmosphere

Integrated as a distinctive space that defines and differentiates the traditional parking structure, the courtyard exudes an urban atmosphere with asphalt paving, cobblestone elements and artist-commissioned graffiti walls, while the basketball equipment infuses the distinct energy of New York City

Materials Embodying the Sport Spirit

The choice of materials is also inspired by the themes of movement and athletics. The cladding is a simple corrugated metal panel with a custom Morse code perforation for the company's brand slogan; the code runs diagonally across each façade in four colors in four different positions on a custom aluminum extrusion. The metal panel cladding hides the cars from view, and the custom perforation and corrugated geometry add movement to the façade while allowing mottled light to penetrate inside
