Designed by LAVIT Atelier, the wooden prefabricated cabin O'Casella is one of the architecture projects designed to fully immerse in nature, while maintaining comfort and protection. The living module can be transported fully assembled on a truck, ensuring versatility and ease of installation. The structure is made of larice corso (laricciu), a precious wood known for its strength and lightness, ideal for a stable and easily transportable construction. The walls and ceiling inside are covered with MDF wood, creating a cozy and protective environment, with a design that enhances the simplicity of natural materials.

A sustainable living module connected to nature

The O'Casella cabin is composed of two main volumes: the living module and the pergola. The first one houses the kitchen, services, and living area, offering a framed view of the surrounding nature, while the pergola, a ventilated and shaded space, is perfect for outdoor relaxation moments like reading or contemplating the landscape. An outdoor shower allows for an even more direct contact with the environment. The cabin's facade is marked by a steel guide that serves both as a gutter for collecting rainwater and as a track for the mobile mashrabiya-style panel. This traditional solution for passive cooling captures the wind, protects the interiors from the sun, and, at night, darkens the room to ensure privacy and rest.

Timeless design blending comfort and sustainability

The project stems from the dialogue between the interior and exterior: the pergola and the wooden structure establish a visual continuity with the natural landscape, offering a space that combines protection and openness. By using lightweight, easily transportable, and assemble materials, the cabin adapts to contemporary sustainability needs without sacrificing aesthetics. LAVIT Atelier thus proposes a new prefabricated living experience that combines traditional craftsmanship and innovative architecture, providing a housing solution that enhances outdoor spaces with elegance and functionality.
