Stage for the creative district of Shanghai. A colourful combination of geometry and materiality
For the first time the Atelier Yok Yok Studio has created a temporary pavilion in Shanghai, in the artistic district of Changning. A stage like a cobalt muffin destined to host concerts and open-air events.

The stage is intended to host events, such as meetings, conferences and other events open to the public, which can take place under the cobalt Muffin during the ten months of the exhibition. It acts as a geometric presence floating on the ground and its apparent complexity is actually composed of 60 identical triangles covered by a semi-transparent elastic cord.
The large volume, floating like a cloud, becomes light and irrelevant. Like a kite or a lantern, it levitates above the plot in an apparent fragility, urging visitors to observe and turn around. The work offers a bright and colourful interaction between geometry and materiality, questioning the boundaries between art and architecture.
Its volume is the result of a hemisphere of a "rhombicosacron polyhedron". The poles extend the edges of this dome and lift it to 2m 20 above the ground. To carry out this installation, 7.5 km of rope were used, in addition to a tubular metal structure to withstand tension and time.
