People's Pavilion in Eindhoven. An Example of Sustainability and Innovation

The People's Pavilion, the Dutch pavilion winner of the Frame Awards in the Sustainable Design category and the Dutch Design Awards in the Habitat category, is a project conceived by the studios Bureau SLA and Overtreders W as a 100% sustainable pavilion.

Promoting Sustainability

The People's Pavilion stands out for its forward-thinking approach in architectural projects, integrating recycled materials and a circular approach in building a sustainable environment. The pavilion is designed by the studios Bureau SLA and Overtreders W with the aim of promoting a closed-loop construction system, or "circular," where waste produced during construction is minimal or nonexistent, with a focus that extends beyond the building's lifespan.

Borrowed Materials and Recycling

People's Pavilion is 100% sustainable: the earth is not deprived of any of its raw materials during construction. The materials for the construction of 250 square meters of pavilion were all borrowed from suppliers and producers, but also from the residents of the town of Eindhoven themselves.

Innovation in Design

The elements have not been screwed, glued, drilled, or sawed, but have remained intact after their use. In this way, the pavilion shows a new future for sustainable construction, new methodologies of smart construction with a powerful design language.
