Renovation of an apartment: versatility, style, and character chromatics. The renovation has transformed a fragmented and closed apartment into an open, functional, and welcoming space. The skillful use of multifunctional blocks, the enhancement of natural light, and the choice of natural materials and colors have created a harmonious and distinctive environment, capable of meeting the needs of its inhabitants with style and functionality.

Initial Layout and Renovation Objectives

Among the interior design projects by the studio Lascia La Scia, this project transformed an apartment that originally had a closed and inefficient layout, lacking a second bedroom and with the kitchen separated from the rest of the space. The renovation was designed to: create a more spacious and welcoming living room, add a second bedroom, introduce a study/guest room, and optimize space through walk-in closets and hidden wardrobes.

Fluid and optimized spaces

The key element of the restructuring was the use of multifunctional blocks for the furnishings. A main multifunctional block effectively divides the living area from the sleeping area, acting as the backbone of the entire apartment.

Open space and continuous furniture

The living area has been transformed into a spacious open space, characterized by continuous furniture that extends from the entrance, through the storage area, and all the way to the living room. This furniture elegantly wraps around the door leading to the sleeping area, creating a visual and functional continuity.

Tones and Materials

The choice of a monobloc furniture in sage green tones gives the environment a neat and relaxing atmosphere. The use of a single color for each custom-made furniture piece has allowed to achieve a homogeneous and harmonious design, creating a space characterized by impeccable visual cohesion.

Enhancement of Natural Light

Particular attention has been dedicated to enhancing natural light. The furniture has been strategically positioned to make the most of the natural light in the most frequented areas during the day. The introduction of a small indoor garden on the balcony adds a touch of green to the house, amplifying the interaction with nature.

Finishing Choices and Multisensory Atmosphere

The selection of finishes was guided by the desire to create welcoming and distinctive environments, in harmony with nature. The entrance welcomes guests with the delicate texture of Fornasetti's Nuvolette, which extends into the living area. The herringbone oak parquet permeates the entire apartment, excluding the bathrooms, providing warmth and continuity.

Natural Materials

In the living room with open kitchen, natural finishes offer a varied tactile experience: from wooden cabinets to the authentic stone, Ceppo di Grè, of the island countertop. This enriches the context with nuances of material and color.

Lighting System

The lighting system has been designed to adapt to the various activities carried out in the home environment. In the living area, technical lights promote concentration in work areas, while the iconic decorative lights of the Frisbi design by Achille Castiglioni add style and personality. The ambient lighting above the TV, with the elegant design of the Infinito by Davide Groppi, adds warmth and hospitality.

Colors and visual coherence

Color plays an essential role in identifying and defining environments. Each space is characterized by a specific hue, carefully selected to reflect the personality of the inhabitants, maintaining visual coherence through the use of natural materials such as stone and wood.

Double Bedroom

The double bedroom, designed as a suite, is a space dedicated to relaxation and intimacy. Equipped with a walk-in closet integrated into the paneling and an en-suite bathroom complete with a bathtub and shower, the room stands out for the refined ribbed texture of the paneling and the combination of blue and brick colors.

Study and Guest Room

The former kitchen has been reinvented as a versatile guest room, with a foldaway wardrobe, a comfortable sofa bed, and a well-equipped study corner. The decor follows a Nordic style, with a palette of neutral and warm colors that promote concentration and a welcoming atmosphere.

Child's Bedroom

The child's bedroom, custom-designed for the child, follows the Montessori approach to promote independence and exploration. The furnishings have been designed to adapt to his future needs, with a low bed and custom-made furniture that allow the child to move freely and experiment autonomously.
