Harmony between style and functionality in a contemporary penthouse

The need to rethink the new home according to a contemporary, clean, and natural language, but not exaggerated, guided the renovation of a beautiful penthouse for a couple. The main goal was to create a sober and elegant spatiality, respecting the existing layout of the living and sleeping areas, with some specific improvements.

Entry and Living Room: Harmony and Comfort

Among the house projects, this renovation represents an example of how architectural design can transform living space, making it elegant and functional. The entrance is characterized by a gray lacquered boiserie that integrates the front door and harmonizes with the adjacent radiator cover. This detail introduces a sense of continuity that leads to the large living room, furnished with a composition of island sofas serving the large TV wall unit. From here, the space flows into the dining area, furnished with an oak table, matching chairs, and an elegant buffet, allowing for a smooth transition between the social areas of the house.

Kitchen and Dining Area: The Functional Heart of the Home

The dining area is directly connected to the kitchen, characterized by an attractive peninsula that meets the client's request for additional work surfaces. A mirror-finished panel placed at the back of the peninsula illuminates the area, creating the impression of an expanded space. The refrigerator and oven columns are positioned at the back of the workspace, while a glass slot reveals the study behind it, flooded with natural light from the large windows.

Corridor and private areas: discretion and style

The main corridor, with invisible doors, leads to the laundry room, the guest bathroom, and the bedroom suite. Each space has been designed to maximize functionality and privacy, without compromising aesthetics. The suite features a bathroom with a sink, sanitary fixtures, a convenient shower stall, and a centrally positioned bathtub. The walk-in closet leads to the sleeping area, creating an intimate and secluded space.

Materials and colors: elegance and warmth

A warm parquet floor characterizes the entire house, except for the kitchen and bathrooms, which are tiled with porcelain stoneware. The medium gray, chosen as the main color of the project, by architect Filippo Bombace, highlights the main architectural features and geometrically articulates the space, creating a visual perspective that runs through the entire apartment. The long corridor allows light to penetrate every corner of the house, making the environment relaxing and bright. Camilla, the house cat, loves to curl up on the rope armchair, enjoying the sun's rays.
