The restaurant is located at the base of a building dating back to the old Milan. Inside, it is composed of two spaces: the main dining room that gravitates around the bar counter and a smaller room that overlooks the kitchen, designed to fully reflect the relationship with the food, right from its preparation
RØST in Milan. An interior design that conveys tradition and authenticity
Covering 65 square metres, the restaurant is designed as a cosy place combining tradition and modernity, just like the cuisine on offer. The ambience is simple and straightforward and focuses on the guest's relationship with food, creating an environment that complements the gastronomic experience with discretion and sobriety
The tones are warm and dominated by the red colour "Marsala", which echoes the fundamental relationship with wine and the land. The use of materials is meticulous and limited and reduced to a few basic types (lime, brass, oak), almost as if they were the ingredients of a recipe on the menu
Frescoed with lime, the walls are in two shades, the darker of which creates a kind of irregular woodwork that forms a horizontal line. The theme of the furnishings is characterised by Milanese style: noble materials such as marble, brass, velvet and leather characterise the room with no ostentation and in contrast to the lime walls and floor
At the entrance, a large wall highlights the restaurant's protagonists: it is the Wall of Fame, 16 ceramic plates, each depicting a manufacturer of the raw materials used in the kitchen. On the opposite side, the bar counter is distinctive for its long solid oak top and vertical cladding made from natural brass profiles with different sections
The value of the pre-existing structure is reflected in the choice to preserve the original floor, which is covered with porphyry tiles. The themes which are important to Vudafieri-Saverino Partners and the continuity with the past and the relationship with memories find a new expression in the chandelier in the small hall, which was designed by Tiziano Vudafieri. It was made by assembling headlights from cars of different eras in the diffuser and is a tribute to the history of the auto parts shop that has always occupied the space
