Designing an interior in which contemporary art is not just a replaceable decoration is of equal importance, in the complete reconstruction of Apartment Sixty-Nine, to the solution of many practical problems such as the expansion of the kitchen or closet area or home technology such as plumbing, etc

Neither the number sixty-nine nor the colors used are random in this interior project: the inspiration for the design and its numerical theme were paintings.
The clients commissioning the Sixty-nine Apartment renovation project from No Architects are people who, although not exactly art collectors, have beautiful works that they like to display in their homes because they bring them joy and pleasure. The reconstruction of this maisonette in Žižkov, Czech Republic, was designed to give the artworks, like their owners, a respectable living space

Studio No Architects incorporated two striking paintings into this project, and at the same time this design featured in the two paintings. The number sixty-nine, depicted in a painting by Vladimír Houdek, has a special meaning for the owners of this space. This theme is echoed in the specially designed furniture and heating covers. The unusually rough edges of the paintings are echoed in the kitchen cabinet doors. The colors of the paintings match the colors of the interior-from the obvious connections to the discrete ones, such as the color of the wall covering behind the shelves

The shade of the wall behind the bookcase was carefully chosen so that it would be in harmony with the second painting, a work by Josef Bolf. The elegant melancholy of this piece is thematically echoed by the tear-shaped lights and placement of this painting: visually it is connected to a large waterfall painting by Patrik Hábl that can be seen from the living room window on a nearby building

Apartment Sixty-nine has been completely rebuilt-the layout, fixtures, and coatings have been renovated; the heating system has been modified and an air conditioning unit has been added. A new staircase connects the floors, illuminated by some special lighting points. The furniture is custom made, starting with the bed and ending with the closets and dining table
