Embracing Historical Traces

The designers of Vallo Sadovsky Architects, in the renovation of the building complex on Stefanikova Street, Nos. 3 and 4, seek to preserve all the important traces of time, taking care of the material language used and respecting the principles of restoration. The history of the buildings dates back to the 1300s, with interventions occurring from the 16th to the 20th century

Integration of New Spaces

The new built part adheres to the original wing, as well as the steel structure connecting to the eastern building of the complex. The planned new spaces group together a number of different features: both semi-private and private rooms, connected to the attic

Designing the Stefanikova 3B Building

The new multifunctional Stefanikova 3B building is designed as an extension built on the blind wall of the adjacent building and faces mostly unilaterally to the new courtyard. The building has a flat width of 4.5 meters while the height is kept on par with the original part. The facade material is divided horizontally and creates a gradual increase in scale compared to the house in Trojicne Square

Moderating Facade Morphology

The contrasting morphology of the facade is moderated by the regular rhythm and materials used. The structure thus preserves the natural character of the fragmentation of the historic center. The interior layout is divided vertically into a rentable space consisting of office and attic space
