Café Chez Teta, a café with a minimal design like grandma's house

Located at the corner of one of Montreal's most dynamic shopping streets, Café Chez Teta combines under one roof the traditions of Lebanese cuisine with the flavors and quality of its coffee thanks to the design by Ivy Studio.

Like at Grandma's House

A simple palette of materials combines the comfort of Lebanese design with the minimalist aesthetic of Chez Teta. The space, created by Ivy Studio specialized in interior design projects, simultaneously projects the warm atmosphere of grandma's house (*Teta means grandma in Arabic) and the energy of a typical Montreal café.
With large windows covering both main facades, the environment is filled with natural light for most of the day.

Bistro Style

A large sliding window behind the counter allows customers to order directly from the street, enlivening the external sidewalk. Inside, the walls are decorated with walnut veneer and a handcrafted plaster finish, punctuated by custom locally produced terracotta lights and bands of horizontal mirrors.
The bistro-style furnishings consist of minimal seating and classic walnut stools.

Minimal chic design

Two long benches in natural leather and a backrest in burgundy velvet surround the main walls of the dining room. The tables are made of dark burgundy powder-coated steel and solid walnut top. The large communal table with a hand-carved walnut base and sand-colored marble top has an imposing presence in the center of the room.

A coffee with a view

By the window, a tall monolithic marble counter, with deep tones of red, beige, black, and white, allows you to enjoy a hot coffee with a view of Rachel Street. Completing the counters, a burgundy steel structure is used as a showcase for display.
