A Roman building from the 1960s houses the two-level apartment which, thanks to the tailor-made project by the architects, becomes Casa LS: a collection of interconnected but independent spaces that revolve like satellites around the patio, used as a showcase for works of art
The artistic intuition
The clients of the duearchitetti's italian studio had already had an intuition by placing the work of an artist in the courtyard that runs through Casa LS. The architects seize the input, transforming it into the core of the project: they call another artist to work in the courtyard of the other level of the house. The two spaces thus become luminous and inspired hearts around which the spaces of the house revolve
Renovating an inhabited house
During the renovation, Casa LS remained constantly inhabited, so the intervention was developed by areas: at the lower level the study/guest area; at the upper level the children's space, the master space, and the living-kitchen space. The clients showed patience thanks to the sensitivity of the professionals and the common passion for art that gave rise to a close friendship
Spaces in becoming
The interiors of Casa LS have been designed with the functional dynamism necessary to adapt to the evolution of the family and its members. Each individual space in the apartment, as well as being maximized, is designed to have maximum autonomy: thus the parent-child relationship is supported, as well as the becoming of the girls, then young women, seeking their independence
