The award-winning project Discovery and Visitor's Center, designed by a Canadian studio, is the new welcome point for the Îles-de-Boucherville National Park, an organic architecture characterized by undulating shapes and wood cladding
To accentuate the walkway leading to the canal, the building is divided into two distinct parts. The space that is created between the two volumes is an open, public space, which acts as both a simple passageway and a place of interaction and meetings. The junction also becomes a rental point for outdoor equipment
The undulating shapes of the building lead visitors to wander around the building and gradually discover the space. In addition, the wooden slats that cover the building accentuate its movement and act as a light filter, creating dancing shadows
On the inside, the organic atmosphere continues, with a passage leading to the heart of the building, where a skylight occupies a central position. Thanks to its inclination, it is easier to have natural ventilation
