Sigurd Larsen emphasises natural light, an essential element in Nordic construction, in his design choices for Roof House. Aware of the different colours of natural light, bluish for indirect light and warmer for direct light, he tries to capture them through the different roof pitches, to blend them and turn the interior into a constantly evolving experience
The nuances of Scandinavian natural light reflected in the Roof House interior
The roof of the Roof House, with its sloping surfaces, is designed to capture both warm, direct sunlight and indirect light, with its bluish, cool colours, in order to transform the interiors into an ever-changing experience as you walk through the various rooms

A perforated wall surrounds the house, creating different degrees of privacy. The entrance is in the heart of the house, where high ceilings open onto a high living room. The kitchen, connected to the south-eastern courtyard, enjoys the morning sun; the parents' section, with access to the courtyard, is located to the south-west, while the children's area is located under the other two roofs
Custom furniture was also designed for the house: the custom modular shelf system is inspired by a conceptual model developed during the design of the house, and is mounted in a brass wall frame to house books and artefacts in the living room
