Arsenal Tower: example of positive energy building

The Arsenal Tower, located in the eco-sustainable district of Arsenal in Dijon, is an innovative project that sets a new standard for sustainable architecture. Designed by Arte Charpentier, the tower is a positive energy residential building that generates more energy than it consumes. This innovative approach is supported by the city of Dijon and the urban community of Dijon Métropole, and fits within a vision of responsible and virtuous urban development.

A visionary project for a new urban lifestyle

The Arsenal Tower rises over 18 floors and reaches a height of 57 meters, accommodating a total of 110 housing units, divided between 51 social housing units and 59 privately owned units. This residential complex is the city's second positive energy project, following the completion of the first positive energy office tower in 2008, also designed by Arte Charpentier. The tower is not just a residential building, but also a symbol of how it is possible to live in the city in a more sustainable and intelligent way.

Bioclimatic Design and Exceptional Energy Performance

The architectural project Torre Arsenal was conceived by the specialized studio in innovative architectural projects, with a strong focus on energy efficiency. The facades, designed with diamond-shaped surfaces to optimize energy production, are covered with next-generation photovoltaic panels that seamlessly integrate into the architecture. These panels allow the tower to generate renewable energy, contributing not only to the building's energy needs but also to reducing its environmental footprint.

The adopted bioclimatic solutions include high-quality external insulation and treatment of thermal bridges to minimize heat loss. Additionally, the project involves heat recovery from greywater, particularly from shower water, and the integration of a centralized heating system powered by renewable energy.

A comfortable and sustainable environment

The interior of the tower has been designed with particular attention to well-being. An advanced home automation system helps residents manage their energy consumption efficiently, ensuring maximum comfort. Thanks to the energy produced by photovoltaic panels, energy costs for residents are almost zeroed out, with the possibility to sell excess energy and thus increase their purchasing power.

The tower also features shared spaces, including a panoramic rooftop terrace that offers a breathtaking view of the city of Dijon, promoting a sense of community and sharing among residents.

A sustainability model for the future

The Arsenal Tower is not just a positive energy building, but a true model of sustainable development. The project aims to demonstrate how residential construction can evolve to address the climate challenges of the future, making renewable energy and bioclimatic design accessible to all.

With its innovative design and commitment to energy efficiency, the Arsenal Tower becomes an emblematic example of how cities can transform to become more sustainable, without compromising the quality of life of their inhabitants.
