Vention transforms warehouses into modern workspaces

Vention is a rapidly growing technology company based in Montreal, which has developed a system of customized aluminum extrusions and soon felt the need for larger office accommodations. The company decides to transform its 14,000 square meter warehouses in the Saint-Henri neighborhood into workspaces, commissioning the task to a renowned architecture firm, architecture projects, Ivy Studio.

The spaces promoting corporate identity

From the beginning, the design intent was to create a simple environment that would convey the company's identity and its product. The aesthetics of the pieces, their perforations, and their characteristic "Vention blue" color were determining factors in the conception of the new space. The new offices are located in two formally and functionally distinct areas of the same industrial building. In the latter, all walls, ceilings, structural and mechanical systems have been entirely painted white, while the existing concrete floor has been covered with an epoxy coating of the same color. Most of the new offices consist of open space furnished with white furniture.

Neutral background and "Vention blue" color

At the center of this neutral background in the open space are blue monoliths covered with perforated sheets, resembling the large machines on the assembly line at Vention. These objects house all enclosed spaces for the team such as conference rooms, informal brainstorming areas. Inside, the entire material palette features "Vention blue", from the carpet to the wall paint. A series of windows provide openness to these spaces, making them more comfortable for longer periods.

The study of office lights

In different areas of the new office headquarters for Vention, fluorescent lights are hidden behind perforated steel sheets, creating unique images and emphasizing certain characteristic elements of the project. At the entrance, for example, the lights are placed behind the central desk, made with specially crafted white extrusions. In the kitchen, a structure illuminated from the inside towers over the island and serves as a division between functional and gathering areas.

Bespoke Furniture and Smoked Blue Glass Tops

All tables have been custom designed in collaboration with the Vention team using their blue aluminum extrusions. The tops are made of panels of navy blue smoked glass, which reveal the unique structures supporting them. The technical specifications of Vention's extrusion assembly have been used to create furniture pieces that strongly represent the company's brand identity. The entire project has been heavily inspired by Vention's signature products and exceptional corporate culture.
