A villa built from the ashes of a house of the early 20th century, demolished because of the static dissection, characterized by the reuse of a set of classical icons and buildings typical of rural architecture of Abruzzo, the arch, the column, the barn
The villa is built around a swimming pool, fishpond, open space on the south side, bordered to the west by an old church dedicated to St. John the Baptist, to the west by the villa and to the east by the porch inspired by the old barns
The materials used in the construction of the building are those typical local, sandstone, brick, wood supported by the use of glass and steel corten
The architectural renovation is integrated with technological innovation, using a system of photovoltaic solar panels for the production of energy
The Valentini Architecture studio has designed a residential villa that evokes elements of classical architecture, such as the triangle and the arch, mixing them with the typical materials of the rural architectural tradition, such as dry stone for the walls, the wooden truss for the roof of the portico that brings back the imaginary construction technique of the barn
