Villa CU: poetry and nature intertwine with architecture in Sicily

Villa CU, designed by Architect Alessio Lo Bello, stands between the mountains and the sea of Termini Imerese, enhancing the Sicilian landscape. Natural elements become an integral part of the architecture, in a continuous dialogue between poetry, emotion, and respect for the context.

Villa CU: a dialogue between landscape and architecture

Located in Termini Imerese, Sicily, Villa CU is a semi-detached project designed by Architect Alessio Lo Bello, a significant example of his vision in architectural projects that celebrate the relationship between nature and the built environment. Set in an area characterized by the duality of Mount San Calogero and the sea on one side, and an industrial area on the other, the villa transforms this complexity into a design opportunity. Natural elements become an integral part of the architecture, while neighboring infrastructures are concealed through compositional choices that emphasize the dialogue between the building and the landscape.

A settlement that respects the morphology of the land

The settlement principle is based on the concept of terracing, which allows adapting the villa to the site's morphology without altering its balance. The distribution of spaces on two levels follows this logic: the lower, semi-basement level houses the most intimate areas, while the upper level alternates private spaces with open common areas, promoting continuous interaction with the surroundings. This configuration not only respects the land but also enhances its qualities, demonstrating a design approach that combines aesthetic sensitivity and functionality.

Evocative Entrances and Spaces Framing the Landscape

The two residential units, each approximately 145 sqm, stand out for their poetic and evocative access paths. One promenade crosses a secret garden, while the other leads to an underground passage illuminated by light filtering through the water of the pool, creating a suggestive atmosphere. Inside, large windows frame fragments of the landscape, turning nature into the absolute protagonist of the architecture. Two contemplative courtyards, enriched by a few natural and architectural elements, give the spaces a powerful expressive and emotional charge.

A manifesto of harmony between design and nature

Villa CU represents a perfect synthesis of design, poetry, and respect for the territory. Every element, from the concept to the finishes, is designed to enhance the connection between humans and the environment. The architecture goes beyond mere accommodation, inviting a sensory and contemplative interaction with the landscape, celebrating the Sicilian territory and transforming every corner of the villa into a lived experience. This project is an example of how architecture can elevate natural beauty, transcending the constraints of the context to offer a refuge of harmony and emotion.
