On a slope near an alley with limited access, in a small Czech town, stands the Weekend House, which exploits every meter of the steep slope: a house with a traditional morphology but with modern details

The house is about 230 square meters, carefully designed by SENAA architekti, to which must be added a storage room for bicycles and a rooftop terrace with a swimming pool hidden in the slope that enjoys panoramic views of the surroundings. Weekend House is divided into a bedroom, bathroom and toilet that occupy the masonry part, originally the living area

The glazed living room, with its steel structure, is located on the site of the former goat stables. The wooden superstructure, on the other hand, houses a sauna and a relaxation area. Traditional morphology and technologies are combined with modern details: a hand-carved loft ceiling in a steel structure continues in a large-scale frameless glazing

The interior plaster is stained and polished without any additional surface treatment. The entire sauna superstructure in the roof terrace is treated with a traditional Japanese folk technique of charred wood, shou-sugi-ban
