A new way of experiencing event spaces

The Westin Gurgaon is being transformed through an intervention that converts an underutilized area into an innovative and sophisticated banquet hall. This project goes beyond traditional concepts of event spaces, combining functionality and creativity. The result is a versatile space designed to cater to corporate meetings, private celebrations, and special occasions, providing a unique visual and sensory experience.

Artistic Interpretation of Space

Within an underutilized area of the Westin Gurgaon, an architectural and design intervention is born that merges art and functionality. The studio Hivemind Design was tasked with transforming the 3800 sqm banquet hall, creating a space capable of hosting both corporate meetings and private celebrations. As in other interior design projects by the studio, the result is an innovative spatial solution, far from the traditional canons of banqueting, where form and function interact in perfect harmony.

Inspired by freehand drawing

The entire project revolves around the idea of freehand drawing, evoking the fluidity and movement of an artist's pencil strokes. This approach is reflected in every detail, from custom coverings to space configuration. Traditional elements, such as classic chandeliers and neutral tones, make way for custom wallpapers and rugs, which evoke the effect of a hand-drawn sketch, making the environment unique and full of character.

The play of lights and shadows personalizes every event

One of the most fascinating aspects of the project is the use of light, which integrates perfectly with the volume of the room. Customized lighting and strategic light points allow to transform the atmosphere according to the type of event, creating a cohesive and engaging visual experience. Multiple accesses ensure optimal operational efficiency, allowing staff to move around without interfering with the setup.

Dynamic Set Design for Versatile Events

Upon entering the lobby, the space opens up into two independent wings, each equipped with projectors and screens that can be used separately or as one large environment. The layout plays with irregular angles and intersecting walls, creating a scenographic effect of strong impact. Furthermore, the integration of systems and technological devices, such as screens and automated lighting, ensures a clean and minimal design.

Durable Materials

To ensure durability and resistance, the walls and columns are coated in travertine, a timeless material that combines solidity and elegance. However, the true star of the banquet hall is an imposing metal curtain, composed of interconnected elements, cascading down to create a suggestive backdrop. Its changing effect adds a touch of glamour, while the ability to open or close it allows for modulating the space and controlling the light.

Custom Lighting

Aware of the importance of light in the sensory experience of an event, lighting experts have developed a custom lighting system. Ceiling lights trace fluid and dynamic lines, providing an artistic and refined aesthetic. This system allows for easy transition from a bright and lively lighting setup for conferences to a more intimate and soft one for gala dinners. Furthermore, integration with home automation ensures energy savings and sustainability, optimizing consumption without compromising the scenic effect.

Design redefines the traditional idea of banqueting

Designed as an artistic composition of lines and abstractions, where light and shadow intertwine fluidly, this banquet hall goes beyond the traditional concept of event space. Thanks to careful planning, durable materials, and meticulous details, the space stands out for its elegance, innovation, and sustainability. Every element has been designed to offer a memorable experience, transforming each event into a unique and engaging occasion.
