The Renaissance building, dating back to 1890, was nothing more than a medical spa facility that was decided to be transformed mainly into a recreational space. The architectural studio decided to preserve the original style of the building, without exaggerating with the revival, making the spaces attractive even for the modern clientele

In Odessa, a modern Ukrainian city steeped in history and culture, the balbek bureau of architecture studio renovates a Renaissance building, preserving the original spirit and making it at the same time attractive to the modern clientele

Another goal was to make the spaces easily accessible, improving the visual connection between the different rooms, which would also improve daylight entry into the different spaces. The layout is updated, ensuring that the original architectural elements of the floor of the space are restored
The original spirit of the building is preserved by maintaining the original ornamental elements with a very soft pink background, which is in contrast with some other elements with contrasting colours. The furniture is mainly dark in colour, which contributes to an aura of modernity
