The city of Wuzhen, a picturesque countryside town with small-scale industries is being redesigned and while some buildings are being demolished, others are being preserved. The factory was built before the mordenization of China and used very basic construction techniques, with concrete trusses supporting a traditional wooden roof

Thanks to the wooden roofing, each room has a unique character, a design that is at the heart of the project. The luxurious volumes of the old factory are the perfect setting for exhibiting contemporary art, so much so that it has become the new venue for the Biennl Wuzhen Art Festival
Thanks to the large skylights and windows, the factory is well lit and an interesting connection is created between the interior and exterior. As a result, the architecture has been totally preserved and transformed into a museum
