BRH+ is the multidisciplinary studio founded in 2002 by Barbara Brondi and Marco Rainò. Independent architects, designers and curators, Marco and Barbara base their practice on an
experimental approach that takes place through activities of planning, theoretical research and critical engagement in the fields of architecture, graphics and contemporary design.
Their architectural projects - with different intended uses, various scales and made in different parts of the world - have been broadly published in Italian and international outlets such as Domus, Abitare, Interni, The Plan, Frame, Bob Magazine Korea, DHD.
Creators of various exhibition and editorial projects, they are curators of the annual thematic workshop program IN Residence (included in the ADI 2014 Design Index and candidate for the
Compasso d'Oro award) and related events, such as group exhibitions Ten Small Atlases (Milan, 2010), Another Terra (Milan, Basel, Venice Biennale, Biennale Interieur Kortijk 2012), Desiderabilia (Milan, 2014), The Reading Ritual (Milan, 2015) and Talisman (Milan, 2017), the series of public debate
meetings Design that Talks! and the book series Design Dialogues published by Corraini Edizioni.
As graphic designers and art directors they worked, among others, for Vivienne Westwood, Marlene Kuntz, Adidas, Subsonica, Visionnaire, Marella, Carlo Pignatelli and Balestra.
From 2014 to 2017 they were Art Directors of LAGO furniture company and since 2015 have been creative consultants for CEDIT - Ceramiche d’Italia.
Marco Rainò is also active in writing critical texts for renowned international newspapers and as a speaker on numerous public debate occasions. In the field of periodical magazines, he has
written about architecture and design for Domus, Abitare, Interni, Inventario, AD. Icon Design. He is author of the Radial Thought column for Icon Design, which was also turned into a theatrical
reading.
