Hyunje Joo's project aims to open the mind to a new perspective on everyday life. 1300 Recycling Pavilion, located in Daegu, South Korea, uses thousands of standard, readily available waste bins, which will be used again once the pavilion is dismantled
"What if the materials we surround ourselves with were to ask us to be more conscientious about how we use them?"
How many possibilities and ways of using everyday objects are hidden behind them? Hyunje Joo answers this question with the design of 1300 Recycling Pavilion, a temporary pavilion made of recycled and reused materials

Light and silhouettes shine through, minimizing the separation between the interior and exterior of the pavilion: the passage of time is fully perceived and the light stimulates our senses. The design is not about 'right' or 'wrong' ways of using objects, but rather about highlighting their possibilities or meanings
Small but attractive and functional structures like 1300 Recycling Pavilion reveal how much potential there is in the world of architecture in adapting to environmental needs, in making the most out of the possibilities of a flexible, cheap, light and recyclable element
