Living in the city, respecting its needs, tradition and reducing energy consumption to a minimum: this is Horma Estudio's challenge in designing AC House, in which the extremely flexible interior spaces are in continuous relationship with the outdoors
AC House, a place to live in the city while respecting your needs
The AC House project attempts to "communicate" what a house in the city should be like nowadays: a welcoming, familiar and full of life environment, in which the internal space is enlarged thanks to the constant relationship with the external space

The ground floor makes it possible to raise the living area to a level which prevents outside noise and provides sufficient natural light. The house is built around a central patio which divides the different living areas. On the upper floor the rooms reach distant views enjoying the geographical references of the area
During the design process, the architect insists on analysing and reviewing the client's lifestyle habits and how they might change over the years. The flexibility of the spaces is designed so that in each period of growth in family members, both parents and daughters, can find the way of living most suited to the needs of the moment
The patio makes it possible to increase the surface area of the home in connection with the outdoors, ensuring that all the spaces in the home have plenty of natural light and cross-ventilation in order to guarantee proper thermal comfort
The result of the AC House project is a cosy, familiar and full of life space defined with traditional materials interpreted in a contemporary style. Terracotta, lime wood and oak wood define the entire architecture, where the exterior and interior are always conceived together, where boundaries are eliminated, making it suitable for use all year round
