The architectural intervention for the housing for the elderly and public hall designed by STUDIO ASSOCIATO ARCHIPLAN consists of two buildings: a building body, taller, intended for the residences for the self-sufficient elderly and another volume, lower and longer, intended for counseling room and archive
A dialogue between architecture and landscape. Senior Housing and Public Hall in the Lombardy countryside
In San Giacomo delle Segnate, province of Mantua, an architectural complex that houses housing for the elderly and public hall fits into the landscape with its two buildings that dialogue through different aesthetic languages with the various contexts they face

The residential building consists of two fronts that take on different connotations as their relationship to the landscape and urban system changes. The public hall has a wooden flank that establishes a relationship with the garden, and a metal front toward a hostile side boundary with which it seeks no relationship
The front on the square defines the hierarchies of access, the rear front enriches the possible dialectics with the outside: the portion of the lower opening carves out a fragment of the countryside, while the upper portion, clad in polycarbonate, is configured as a lantern that, illuminated at night, becomes an element of orientation in the surrounding agrarian landscape
