The interior design project by RAR.STUDIO captures the characteristics of the property, from its low ceilings to the thin black frames of the fixtures, to set the tone for the intervention. Thanks to the renovation, Apartment AP receives a significant expansion of the living area, which extends along the entire western facade
Intimate and personalized tones in Apartment AP for maximum comfort
Located in the Avenidas Novas neighborhood of Lisbon, Apartment AP is situated in a building from the early 2000s with a flashy design and interiors of generic spatial character. The project aims to create a space enclosed by a uniform, warm, and soft envelope

The connection between the living room and the kitchen is also enlarged through a translucent sliding door. In the project, the stair system is newly created, leading to a consequent reorganization of the ceiling heights; full-height doors are installed and new ceiling finishes are applied
The architects also proceed with the complete redesign and replacement of the wooden elements: the baseboards are removed, while the new floors, doors, closets, and paneling are made of oak wood
In the kitchen and bathrooms, the diversity of materials, textures, and temperatures aims to utilize and emphasize the different moods that accompany the changing natural light. The lighting design and some furniture elements, along with other choices made with the clients for the overall style of the apartment, reinforce its intimate and personalized tone and the comfort it offers to its inhabitants
