The Baie-de-Valois Nautical Center in Pointe-Claire commemorates Montreal's iconic islands
Montreal's island parks have been exceptionally busy over the past 2 years, and municipalities have received a growing demand from their citizens to invest in them, returning the coastline to the community with sustainable interventions such as the Baie-de-Valois Nautical Center

Located on the shores of Lake Saint-Louis in the Parc Grande-Anse, the project replaces an old and deteriorated chalet while improving the provision of water sports activities for citizens
The redevelopment of the site and its building promotes greater accessibility to a diverse clientele of all ages. A new community hall, with a capacity of 100 people, provides a venue for hosting events
Inspired by the geological layering of the site, the design is divided into several layers that reflect the surrounding landscape. The sloping roof is reminiscent of a tree vault, and the wooden cladding embodies the rhythm of tree trunks in the forests. The base of the building represents the geometry of a rocky shoreline. The shape of the roof, perceptible even from inside the building, creates an immersive atmosphere that poetically reveals a breathtaking view of Lake Saint-Louis
