Casa Lluna, designed by CAVAA arquitectes is conceived as an urban landscape reproduced in a domestic space: the windows and doors overlook the centre of the house. By demolishing the first floor slab, natural lighting is increased, improving the connection between the dining room, study and the various living areas of the house.
Illuminated core of the house. Natural light gives new life to the domestic space
In the historical centre of Vilanova i la Geltru, in Barcelona, a former carpentry shop is transformed into a living space by the CAVAA arquitectes studio, with doors and windows overlooking the central area, enhancing the natural lighting.

The new central illuminated area becomes the new core, around which the various rooms are articulated. The project focuses a lot on the openings, windows, doors, balconies which are framed in wood and create an internal facade. Stone walls, brick walls, pine wood, a collage of precious and raw materials enhance the contrast between old and new.
