Staggered volumes for a house in Mexico. Palette of materials for outdoors and terraces
The proposal of BAC Barrio Arquitectura Ciudad exploits and strengthens the layout of the existing building, creating new volumes and covering the exterior/interior as a palette of materials, in which roofs are also an essential part of the design
On the surface, the connection between the interior and exterior is made through a simple palette of materials, the floor of the entrance hall leads to the dining room while from the patio the slate stone becomes part of the furniture of the room. In this section the house is structured around a central space of triple height surrounded by the path of the staircase
A key element is the use of roofs as an essential part of the design. Here, in addition to the expansion of the volume to be used as a paint shop, the "set" of levels forms a two terraces that are integrated using the hexagon as a module in different materials. Outside, a simple and discreet facade lets only the view of volumes and materials be interpreted easily
