Geometric interplay of two volumes for the Drogen
The building consists of a furniture shop with a lunch bar on the street side and an office building at the rear of the site. Both are visualized on the basis of two geometric figures that have been partly juxtaposed. The result is a geometric interplay of 2 different volumes that distinguish both the shop and the office. The silhouette of the front volume is inspired by the 45° rule of urban planning conditions and is therefore crowned by a pitched roof
Both on the sloping roof surfaces - with a 45° pitch - and on the walls, the slabs have been positioned in a checkered pattern. Thanks to two integrated gutters on both sides of the pitched roof, the form remains pure. At the corners, where the slabs of the wall surfaces connect, an embedded steel wing provides a razor-sharp angle
The window frames are cut out and finished with fine, slightly protruding frames. The doors, on the other hand - with the exception of the glass door in the office - are also clad in slate, with carefully cut-out latches and hinges.
