Housing model in Austria. A pavilion to show the positive effects of wood

A prototype of a minimal housing model was designed in Bezau, Austria, by Innauer Matt Architekten studio, between experimentation and exhibition, perfumes and materials, to express the potential of wood

The project was conceived as an Exhibition House for the wood construction company Kaspar Greber and its commercial partners, to present "wood" in a different way, in order to let potential customers and visitors experience the product and its construction firsthand, by touching, smelling and feeling it

Solid wood is used both in the construction and in the interior of the pavilion. The characteristics of the various surfaces and varieties of wood, spruce, fir and oak can be seen clearly in the way they divide the exhibition space inside the pavilion into different presentation areas. The untreated natural raw wood creates a relaxed atmosphere, showing the positive effects of this building material to its fullest

The structures of walls and ceilings are represented proportionally and their construction and assembly is visible from close up in the openings. The doors and windows are round to invite visitors to take a closer look. In addition, wall, ceiling and floor connections can be seen thanks to the pavilion's staircase system

The temporary exhibition pavilion was created as a tangible marketing tool for the architecture and construction sector. In addition to being presented at fairs and exhibitions, the mobile building can be available for festive events such as weddings or corporate dinners at vantage points in the region

A model to express a material: in this instance, Architecture wants to teach, in a playful way, how a material such as wood can create innovative solutions that do not concern only Architecture itself
