The project client commissioned architecture and interior design studio Barlis Wedlick Architects to build a cabin-style house on the hillside of a landed property. The structure is entirely passive and clad in charred cedar, a Japanese technique for making wood more durable

The house has a garage and a green roof, along with a monitoring system that allows continuous energy analysis of the occupancy. In the interior there is a living area and a bedroom with a built-in vintage piece of furniture
