Jacob's ladder is the name of the structure installed at the heart of the park. It is 34 metres high and built with a square section steel tube weighing 46 tonnes. It consists of 480 steel elements stacked on top of each other

Gibbs Farm is a thousand acre outdoor sculpture park in the Kaipara port, near Auckland on New Zealand's North Island. The park houses over thirty monumental sculptures, which are works by the best international contemporary artists including Richard Serra, Anish Kapoor and Andy Goldsworthy
All the works were commissioned by Alan Gibbs, a businessman, entrepreneur and art collector from New Zealand who has composed the Gibbs Farm collection over the last twenty-six years

Each layer is slightly different in length and size, shifted and rotated with respect to the layer below, finally producing the final shape which is elegantly curved, despite the fact that the components themselves all have straight steel segments
