Keukenhof relies on Mecanoo architecten studio for the design of an entrance suitable for the influx of visitors to the world-famous Dutch gardens: a unique wooden roof, resting on two volumes, becomes the gateway to the park
The wooden structure is composed of isosceles triangles intertwined with each other, creating a play of light and shadow in continuous evolution. Thanks to this entrance, a passage space is created between the outside world and the park with all its flowers
In the passage space, when looking up at the Dutch sky it appears to be framed by wooden triangles, the floor is characterized by triangular shadows while, looking straight ahead, a tulip-shaped fence marks the beginning of the park area
