The Hotel Post, a hotel dating back to the 80s and located in the attractive old town, was chosen and renovated by the architects of Kuhnlein Architektur studio to serve as the cultural center of Berching
The flat-roofed side wing, subordinate to the gabled structure contains ancillary rooms such as toilets, kitchen and storage rooms and for fire safety reasons is made of concrete. The concrete parts create a striking contrast to the wooden construction
The interior design is very simply designed with inexpensive materials. The bathrooms are very understated with stainless steel items and simple lights and thin, minimal mirrors. Herringbone cladding in the lobby with several joints is used to regulate the acoustics of the room, adjusting the reverberation time as well as to reinforce the roof and walls
