Created for the first time in 2011, Non Lin / Lin represents a first prototype work in mesh description that has been further perfected on a large scale with subsequent works by the artist. The work had been on display for five months in 2018 and given the strong turnout, was later exhibited to the public

The installation is the centrepiece of an exhibition of other architectural works from the FRAC Collection with the theme "Liquid Architectures", an event curated by Abdelkader Damani. Throughout the summer, Non Lin/Lin occupied the nave of the Grootseminarie in Bruges, a 17th century Cistercian abbey
Triangular in shape, the piece unfolds and develops along the main axis of the sanctuary. As you approach, it is not possible to determine the depth of its structure, you have to walk through it, through its forest of porous branches to understand the scale and depth
The openings between the connecting parts filter the light, alternately projecting the shadow and the streaked light into the interior. It is more of an experience to walk along it, you have the sense of floating through a structure similar to a coral. Tentacular and enveloping forms within the spatial environment are joined by a continuous surface of polished white aluminium, made up of 6,367 non-linear strips
The several thousand individual parts are pre-assembled into 40 modular sections. The four-meter-high structure can be dismantled and reassembled in different places, highlighting a lightness that exceeds the quality of the material in a paradigm of agile architectural production
