AZO Sequeira Arquitectos designed a play space inspired by magic, fantasy and even the dreams and memories of children. They transformed the old dovecote into a "tree house" with a minimal concrete style which represents these memories and fantasies in a pure and peaceful way

This is an emotional project! The client had asked the designers to renovate an old dovecote in the courtyard of his house. This led to the idea of transforming it into a playhouse for children and a bathroom to serve the swimming pool on the ground floor. The whole family liked the idea
The main volume looks like it is levitating like a tree house, but at the same time it had to be balanced and pure. The idea was that the interior should be left bare and then gradually decorated by the children's artwork and toys as a reflection of the consumer society we are living in
Some elements have been retained from the original building such as the triangular window through which pigeons entered and the stone walls that serve as a base for the new construction. It is a project of pure forms that offers poetry and enchantment to the people who use it
