In the residential area of El Sardinero, Spain, the renovation project of an apartment by Zooco Studio takes place in an exclusive neighborhood. In the layout, the outdated distribution gives way to a much brighter and open layout
In the renovation of the apartment, the decision was made to take advantage of the views of the place, uncovering the concrete structure and redesigning a new layout that would be able to function independently of the structure. The main element of the project is the central piece of furniture made of wood, which separates the living and sleeping areas
Thanks to the large windows and porches, a spatial continuity is created between the rooms and towards the outside. The ruggedness and harshness of concrete, juxtaposed with the warmth of wood, create a duality and harmonic synthesis in the house, while maintaining its own character. Oak wood and concrete become the protagonists of the palette of colors and textures
