Located in the heart of the city of Ha Tinh, on a street with many government offices, the SRDP-IWMC Office is the home of the SRDP project (IFAD organization) and the IWMC project (ODA funded by the Belgian government). The low cost and basic office furniture is one of the keys to the project
The project is located in a place where climate change is a major problem, which affects urban and rural areas extensively, where rapid urbanization has made the rural area unbalanced. This has reduced agricultural land by impacting on the lifestyle of the local community. Hence the concept of restoring, through architecture, space for agriculture in the urban area
The three-storey block is located in an east-west direction. The two upper floors are covered by a lattice structure full of plants and crops that we call "Vertical Field". The structure, consisting of 400 mm x 400 mm concrete blocks stacked vertically, embraces the entire internal workspace
The irrigation system is integrated between the joints of the blocks, minimizing the negative impact of urban problems and local climate such as noise, air pollution, overheating and typhoon. This working environment, integrated with agriculture, creates a different experience for users
The project focuses on how the synthesis of agriculture and architecture is the basis of sustainable development, using the concept of "green" in the urban context
