As a Tapas Bar: surrealism and color for an iconic Tapas Bar

Surrealism, liveliness, and design come together in the Como Taperia project: inspired by Miró's colors, traditional materials such as ceramics, wood, and stone, the tapas bar emulates the vitality of Spanish bars in a unique and informal atmosphere

Surrealism and design at Como Taperia

The project of Como Taperia, designed by Studio Stemarie Art Design, is a journey into the heart of Spanish culture. Through a visual language rich in artistic and chromatic references, typical of their design and architecture projects, the team manages to blend surrealism and liveliness, creating an environment that conveys energy and originality. The color choices, inspired by the art of Miró, and the skillful use of materials such as ceramics, wood, and stone, evoke Iberian tradition, while renewing it with a contemporary approach. Every detail contributes to an experience that goes beyond mere consumption: a complete immersion in culture and design.

A tribute to Spanish bars

The energy, warmth, and informality typical of Spanish bars were the starting point of the concept. These spaces, animated by conversations and laughter, represent a fundamental element of social life in Spain. The design team captured this essence, transforming it into a place where customers can relax, have fun, and feel at home. The passion for Spanish cuisine is reflected in every design choice, from textures to colors, creating an environment that embodies the soul of these iconic places.

The evolution of tapas

Tapas, an undisputed symbol of Spanish conviviality, have deeply inspired the project. Their origin, linked to the inventiveness of bartenders who served small portions of food to accompany drinks, represents the spirit of simplicity and innovation that Como Taperia aims to express. This narrative is reflected not only in the menu details but also in the architecture of the space, where vibrant geometries and intense colors evoke tradition, making the experience not only gustatory but also visual and sensory.

Materials and atmosphere: a blend of tradition and modernity

The palette of materials selected for Como Taperia combines elements that evoke past Spain with a modern and bold aesthetic. Ceramic coverings and stone surfaces, typical of traditional architecture, interact with wooden applications that add warmth and intimacy. Lighting plays a fundamental role, creating a theatrical atmosphere that enhances the details. The blue structures, inspired by Miró's surrealism, seem to dance in space, giving a playful and unexpected character to the project. The result is a space where tradition and modernity harmoniously come together.

Facing the challenges of space

The realization of Como Taperia was not without challenges: over a third of the space is developed on a ramp, a feature that could have been a limitation. Instead, this peculiarity was transformed into a distinctive element, helping to create a unique experience for guests. The entrance, opening directly into the heart of the venue, offers a warm and surprising welcome, capable of breaking the traditional patterns of the gastronomic scene. This design choice not only overcame structural constraints but also emphasized the informal and dynamic character of the tapas bar.
