Architect Stefan Schweighofer is the author of the FH Kaltenbrunnen house, located in Austria, born from the foundations of an old container building from the 80s, with shape, proportions, and orientation based on the building context in which it stands

The Gable Roof

The three-story solid wood house harmoniously blends with the surrounding buildings. Architect Stefan Schweighofer and his team, specialized in architectural projects in protected contexts, developed the structure on three floors. FH Kaltenbrunnen and is equipped with a gable roof, blending harmoniously with the ensemble of surrounding buildings.

Solid appearance in harmony with the landscape

The holiday home, even though it perfectly adapts to the slope and landscape, maintains a solid and robust appearance. The openings create visual axes on the surrounding environment carefully selected. In the basement, there are private areas with bedrooms, which invite relaxation and intimacy.

The living area and the large window with an exciting view

On the ground floor is the living area, divided into multiple levels, which opens up towards the valley and the terrace. The stunning huge window brings the forest directly into the living room, in fact, it can be completely opened thanks to an integrated sliding door in the wall.

Solid wood and ventilated facade

The solid wood construction is based on an existing foundation. The wall and ceiling are built with cross-laminated timber, visible from the inside. The house is insulated with fiber panels, covered by a closed and ventilated wooden facade. The roof is made of Eternit tiles. The project emphasizes the use of natural, renewable, and regional building materials
