Hubertus Pool, the pool suspended between sky and earth

As part of the redevelopment of a hotel in Val Pusteria, the young designers from the noa* studio have created an intervention of great visual and symbolic impact: an iconic pool that boldly extends 25 meters into the surrounding landscape, enhancing the beauty of the alpine region.

Major Renovation for Hotel Hubertus

At 1350 meters above sea level, in Valdaora, in the province of Bolzano, settles, at the foot of the renowned ski area of Plan de Corones, the Hotel Hubertus. The significant renovation and expansion project of the hotel is one of the numerous architecture projects signed by noa*, characterized by innovation and a search for harmony with the environment

The heart of the project: Hubertus Pool

The suspended pool, which stretches for 25 meters, appears to be hanging between sky and earth: it represents the heart of the project. The sensation for those who use it is that of floating in the air, amplified by the transparency of the pool's bottom that allows you to see the panorama below. Positioned at a dizzying height of 12 meters from the ground, the structure of the pool extends into the void, supported by four metal and wood pillars

Visual Continuity and Rhythm for the Facade

In addition to the iconic pool, another distinctive feature of the project is the use of stripped larch poles, a significant element for the building's facade. The visual rhythm of the facade of the new building section, housing the rooms, is marked by a sequence of larch logs. This architectural detail serves as a continuity element between the expansion and the existing structure.

Attention to detail

Visual continuity is also ensured by attention to and care for details: the balustrades of the existing structure are replaced with new ones in powder-coated metal, blending in with the new additions. The entire facade, both of the new addition and the pre-existing structure, seamlessly integrates with the wooded landscape that surrounds it thanks to the choice of the cladding color, a warm-gray-brown tone.
