Interior of Straight Curve House inspired by the external shapes of the building

In Rome, in a valuable building from the 1970s, the simple but effective geometric sequence of a line, a semicircle, and a quarter circle that characterizes the external composition of the building is chosen as the layout for the renovation of the home for a couple with children: Straight Curve House

Straight curved layout and material identity of contrasts

Architect Filippo Bombace's studio designs the interiors of Straight Curve House following the external layout and using it to define the internal partitions and all the furnishing elements. The atmosphere of the house is completed with the material and chromatic identification of the intervention based on the contrast between white walls and the widespread use of oak wood, with some inserts in calacatta marble

The declinations of oak

The daytime space is equipped with a diaphragm of partitions: delicate but effective wooden partitions that act as a backdrop to the living room defining the separation with the entrance, the kitchen, the study, and the distribution space through a pleasant see-not see. Most of the cabinets and furnishings repropose the oak, as well as and above all the wainscoting with slats along the corridor wall that runs alongside the living area

Straight and curved lines in the bedroom area

The master suite is characterized by a central partition that serves as a wardrobe and headboard for the bed; it features a private bathroom with direct access from the room through a sliding panel that reveals spaces with progressive levels of intimacy: the freestanding bathtub, the large shower, the double sink station, and finally, the toilet area. In the children's rooms, the straight and curved lines are expressed in color schemes more suitable for their age; the youngest in the house is pampered by the design with a hideaway behind the retractable curved fabric wall that encloses her wardrobe
