Kebhouze lands in London: the new store designed by KontrArk

In December 2023, Kebhouze opened its largest store in London, the result of the ambitious interior design work curated by KontrArk Studio. After over twenty venues created in Italy, the brand decided to expand into the international market, choosing a historic building on Oxford Street as its location, one of the most iconic streets in the English capital.

An ambitious and challenging project

The intervention by KontrArk involved all the floors of the building, from the basement to the fifth floor, in a project that took less than six months to complete. The real challenge was to reconcile the brand's needs with the historicity of the building, preserving the architectural identity of the place while also respecting the guidelines of the Kebhouze format. An interesting challenge in interior design projects like this, where interventions are made on historic buildings.

An experience for all customers

The ground floor has been designed to accommodate all types of customers, with an area dedicated to those who want to grab a kebab and go quickly, and a larger area for those who prefer to dine in. The upper floors, on the other hand, offer more intimate and comfortable spaces, with sofas and fixed tables for those seeking a more relaxed atmosphere, alongside more traditional seating, characterized by movable tables and stools.

Design and art: a perfect combination

The store design reflects the concept of Kebhouze, using materials such as red sheet metal and iconic neon signs. However, the unique touch is given by the integration of the English context, leaving the original brick masonry typical of British architecture visible. To further enhance the space, the artistic intervention of Philip Colbert, who created a site-specific artwork, blending the brand's graphic elements with his personal artistic research, making each visit an immersive experience. This new Kebhouze store demonstrates KontrArk's ability to create unique and functional spaces, adapted to international cultural and architectural contexts.
