A restoration that enhances history and architecture
The Panorama Hotel Friuli, located in the historic heart of San Daniele del Friuli, represents a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. The building, which has housed a hospitality structure since 1952, underwent a redevelopment aimed at preserving historical traces, enhancing the original architectural elements. The arches and massive pillars clad in pietra piasentina bear witness to a past intertwined with the present, creating a unique atmosphere.
The project completely redesigned the interior spaces, with expansions and new connections between environments, resulting in a five-level structure that combines historical materials, period furnishings, and pieces of contemporary design. A harmonious contrast that reflects the history of Friuli and the evolution of modern hospitality.
Interior Spaces Care
Every space at Panorama Hotel Friuli has been designed to offer a welcoming and personalized stay experience. The interior design intervention involved the use of traditional materials such as terrazzo and Palladiana, combined with unique furnishings and carefully curated details. The result is a space that reflects local traditions while still incorporating a contemporary touch, evident in the furniture solutions and the management of common areas like the lobby and lounge.
One of the distinctive elements is the facade restyling: the "testa di moro" color intentionally highlights the historical architecture, contrasting with the lighter tones of the surrounding buildings. Inside, the use of both ancient and contemporary materials creates an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere, where guest well-being is a top priority.
Acoustic Well-being and Comfort
The project has dedicated great attention to the acoustic quality of the spaces, integrating three-dimensional acoustic panels that, in addition to improving aesthetics, optimize the sound well-being of the areas. These panels diffuse sound harmoniously, creating an acoustically balanced environment. The solution has been particularly effective in common areas, such as the hall and lounge, where sound management is essential to ensure maximum comfort for guests.
The Prosciutteria: tradition and contemporary design
Next to the hotel entrance is the Prosciutteria, a space that reinterprets the traditional Friulian "fogolâr," the focal point of local homes. The design of the Prosciutteria combines materials such as wood, stone, and copper, in a color palette that transitions from brown to beige, with touches of teal blue. This space not only serves as a welcoming area but also pays homage to Friulian tradition, reimagined in a modern way.
Rooms and suites: luxury and functionality
The 12 rooms and suites at the Panorama Hotel Friuli offer a refined and personalized stay experience. Each room has its own identity, with custom furnishings, decorative mosaics, and fabrics that evoke Friulian tradition. Attention to detail, the choice of natural materials, and space optimization have allowed for the creation of two additional rooms compared to the original configuration, offering a total of 10 new beds.
Spaces wellness and panoramic terraces
The renovation project also included the creation of a Private SPA, a relaxation oasis with sauna, Turkish bath, and mini whirlpool pool, nestled among ancient arches. Additionally, the panoramic terrace, with glass parapets and LED lighting, offers a breathtaking view of the Friulian hills, giving guests a unique experience, both during the day and at night.
A sustainability project
The Panorama Hotel Friuli has placed great emphasis on sustainability, adopting home automation technologies to optimize energy consumption and choosing natural and reclaimed materials, mainly sourced locally. This approach has allowed to reduce the environmental impact, involving local craftsmen and artisans in a short supply chain that enhances local resources.
Conclusion: a hospitality that combines tradition and modernity
The Panorama Hotel Friuli by Candoni, Gortana and Papa represents an example of how architecture and design can interact with history to create contemporary hospitality. Attention to detail, respect for tradition, and technological innovation come together in a project that places guest well-being at the forefront, offering a unique and unforgettable stay experience.
