Is it there or not? Synvillan, the chameleon suite

Synvillan, which literally translates to "Optical Illusion", is an accommodation architecture located in the Eriksberg nature reserve, which allows visitors to enjoy a unique experience surrounded by wild animals.

The illusion of a suite dissolving into nature

Sandellsandberg is the architecture firm behind one of the most fascinating and surprising residences in Scandinavia: Synvillan, an architecture that almost seems to dissolve into the landscape. Through the use of contemporary materials, such as modeled reflective sheet metal, and integration with traditional elements, like the straw roof, the project manages to blend modernity and nature in a perfect balance. This combination allows the structure to disappear among the trees and reflect the surrounding environment, emphasizing the idea of an architecture that doesn't dominate the landscape but harmonizes with it. Sandellsandberg once again demonstrates its mastery in creating architectural projects that enhance the context in which they are placed, without altering its essence.

Float above bison, deer, and fallow deer

The peculiarity of Synvillan lies not only in its visual impact but also in its ingenious location. The structure is raised on pillars four meters above the ground, a design choice that ensures safety and tranquility for visitors, immersed in a nature reserve populated by a rich wildlife. The elevated position offers a unique view of the surrounding environment, transforming the stay into an immersive and engaging experience. Synvillan is built in an animal feeding area, a place where bison, deer, fallow deer, mouflons, and wild boars move freely. A particularly suggestive architectural detail is the glass panel integrated into the floor, which allows guests to observe the animals directly beneath the structure, providing a privileged viewpoint on the life of the reserve.

Architecture as a bridge between man and nature

The Eriksberg nature reserve, where Synvillan is located, is one of the most interesting areas in Scandinavia for biodiversity and environmental conservation. Here, nature is protected and enhanced, and every architectural intervention must respect this fragile and precious balance. Sandellsandberg's design fits perfectly into this context, offering visitors the opportunity to experience something unique, in close contact with nature. The villa, covering approximately 50 square meters, includes two rooms, a kitchen, and a furnished terrace, creating a comfortable and functional environment without disrupting the ecosystem. Synvillan is a demonstration of how architecture can be a bridge between man and nature, providing spaces for refuge and contemplation without invading the landscape, but enhancing it with intelligent and sustainable solutions.
