Villa Las Nubes: suspended between sky and nature

Villa Las Nubes is a manifesto of balance between architecture and landscape. Suspended 11 meters above the ground, the villa harmoniously blends into the forest without disrupting the ecosystem. Trees pass through the structure and continue to grow undisturbed, while the design adapts to the terrain's morphology, preserving local flora and fauna.

A suspended solution to respect the environment

The terrain, characterized by a 26% slope and 133 pine trees, posed a complex design challenge for Flow 81 studio. To avoid invasive excavations, the villa was conceived as a volume raised on cantilevered pillars. This approach allowed for the preservation of the tree roots and the creation of a perforated terrace, which accommodates the tree canopies without hindering their growth.

An exclusive panorama and total privacy

The elevation of the villa is not only a functional choice but also a strategic one: despite being located in an area without a direct view of the sea, the height allows for spectacular views. Furthermore, the elevated position ensures privacy from the access road, while the natural vegetation acts as a barrier without the need for artificial elements.

Architecture and nature in harmony

The use of sliding glass doors creates a continuous dialogue between interior and exterior, allowing inhabited spaces to blend with the surrounding landscape. Trees grow inside the courtyards, a waterfall welcomes guests at the entrance, and the continuous flooring reinforces the feeling of total immersion in nature.

Energy efficiency and living comfort

Sustainability is one of the pillars in architectural projects like this: the cantilevered roofs provide shade in summer and allow the sun to warm the facade in winter, optimizing thermal comfort. The internal spaces, fluid and barrier-free, promote connection between environments and create a welcoming atmosphere, despite the significant size of the villa.
